Garanimals is a children’s clothing company that prides themselves on being an affordable option for parents, while still having fun and fresh designs that appeal to their kids. Their logo rebrand condenses the word Garanimals into one recognizable letter to assist with brand recognition by both the children wearing their clothes and the adults who purchase them. 

The animals featured on the clothing are exotic but colorful and easily identifiable by children so they would garner excitement around the product. I started my character illustration by doing facial studies of the animals, then fleshing them out into full characters with life and movement. The character illustrations are featured on the brand’s attached clothing tags.

For the hang tags, I wanted to continue with the exotic, jungle inspired motif. I worked through a few different iterations of the leaf concept, and landed on one big leaf which incorporates all the item information as well as the character and logo. The pink line in the tag design indicates a custom die cut in the leaf form of the tag.
